‘After a successful inaugural run in 2017, The Other Art Fair is back for another year at its warehouse home, The Facility.
The fair is a hands-on way to discover and purchase art directly from Australian and international artists. One hundred undiscovered and emerging creators will be exhibiting their work to build relationships with art fans, and to fund future work.
There’ll be performance art and site-specific works such as Ryoko Kose’s Just Keep Going, a 3D line-drawing performance using crochet hemp yarn. Fractured Altar is a light, sound and kinetic-movement performance piece. And Georgia Banks’s Hello Boys is a play about camgirl culture, produced via webcam.
Food and drinks will be available too, courtesy of D.O.C., Maker & Monger, ethical chocolate company Hey Tiger, Taylors Wine, Brick Lane Brewery and Industry Beans.
The four-day fair will be presented by Saatchi Art, an online art collective based in Los Angeles that curates and exhibits art from all over the world. The fair will also make stops in Chicago, Bristol, Brooklyn and Sydney.
The works on display have been chosen by a panel of experts including Andy Gomez of Hunger Rozario art gallery in Fitzroy, art consultant Santy Saptari, gallerist Tristian Koenig, and Rebecca Wilson, chief curator and director of art advisory at Saatchi Art.’
